HOW TO SEND MONEY by Western Union

 

Simple. Just go to your nearest Western Union Agent location, fill in your details and we will take care of the rest for you. With more than 334,0001 Agent locations across the world, we are probably right around the corner in your neighborhood post office or bank.

    COMPLETE THE ‘TO SEND MONEY’ FORM

     

    Cash to Cash Money Transfer: Fill out the form provided and show your original valid government-issued photo identification or other supporting documents to the Agent. You can call our Singapore hotline at 6336 2000 (for calls within Singapore) or +65 6336 2000 (for calls from overseas) for more information.

    Direct to Receivers Bank Account: If you wish to send money to a bank account (currently available when sending money to Indonesia and China), please fill up the respective "Direct to Bank" form. The additional information required is the receiver’s name, bank name, bank account number and phone number.

    If you have a Western Union® Gold Card, you can send money through Western Union® by simply presenting the card along with your original valid government-issued photo identification or other supporting documents to the Agent.

    PAY FOR YOUR MONEY TRANSFER

      Give the Agent the amount of money that you want to send together with the necessary service fees2.

    SIGN AND RECEIVE YOUR RECEIPT

      You will be required to sign a receipt after you have verified all the details printed on the receipt are correct. One of the details printed on the receipt is your Money Transfer Control Number (MTCN). You can track the status of your money transfer online with your MTCN.

    INFORM YOUR RECEIVER

     

    It is time to contact the intended receiver of your money, and relay the necessary information to him/her such as the sender’s name, amount sent, MTCN, and the country the money was sent from. Do not disclose the MTCN to anyone other than your intended receiver.

    In the case of Direct to Bank service to Indonesia, the money will be transferred to the receiver’s bank account.

    In the case of sending money to a bank account in China for the first time, please note that the receiver must call up the call center in China to verify the following:

    • Receiver’s name in Chinese characters
    • MTCN
    • Receiver’s valid identification
    • Bank name, and
    • Bank account number

     

    This is only a one-time verification for the receiver and the second transaction onwards will be sent directly to the bank account of the receiver.

    TRACK YOUR MONEY

     

    Go to the ‘Tracking’ link that's on the homepage of our website. You can then track the status of your money by typing in your name (the sender’s name) and MTCN.
